The financial management guru that is Mr. Dawn Makungwa brings depth, discipline, and strategic foresight to the Southern Region Water Board (SRWB), where he serves as Director of Finance. With a proven track record in both the private and public sectors, Mr. Makungwa is at the heart of ensuring financial integrity, sustainability, and accountability for the Board.

Mr. Makungwa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy from the University of Malawi, The Polytechnic, and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). His career began at Deloitte, where he gained valuable auditing experience over five years. He later joined Stansfield Motors, where he rose to the position of Financial Director, a role that solidified his reputation as a results-oriented leader in financial stewardship.

In November 2021, he joined Southern Region Water Board, bringing with him not only technical expertise but also strong leadership and decision-making capabilities. His role includes overseeing financial planning, implementing internal controls, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and aligning financial strategy with the Board’s overall goals.
